Morning Worship

Bus Tickets and Morning Worship: June 15

Each month Grace distributes bus tickets to people in our community.  This happens on the 15th of the month, or if the 15th is a weekend we meet the Friday before.  Volunteers and those receiving tickets begin to gather around 6:30 am in the Grace Alcove. Guests are greeted with smiles, coffee, water, and a place to sit. Tickets are distributed at 7:50 am.

We invite all guests to a brief worship service with communion in the Great Room at 7:35.

We can always use volunteers to help with set-up, clean-up, and ticket distribution.  Want to help?  Contact Kirk Anderson, kirk@mygpc.org or 684-5215.

Online Discussion in June on Facebook

Are you on Facebook?

Join a discussion each week on the Grace Facebook Page.  Each Monday by noon we post a short video and some prompt questions. Watch the video and respond. Check back to see what other people have said.

The videos are of pastor and professor Barbara Brown Taylor sharing thoughts on faith and life.  This is a great way to stay connected to our community and your faith during a busy month.

Yellow Bag Sundays

Yellow Bag Sundays June 2017

Each month on the first Sunday you’re encouraged to take home a re-usable yellow grocery bag, put some non-perishable items in it, and bring it back the next week, or soon thereafter.  Our contributions this month go to the Mt. Vernon Presbyterian Church food pantry.

Sunday Morning Preaching Schedule for June

June 4

On this day we celebrate Pentecost and the gift of the Holy Spirit.  The Pentecost story is found in Acts 2.  Catherine Neelly Burton preaches, and we receive the Lord’s Supper.

June 11

We continue in the book of Acts for several weeks.  On this day, our worship team leads both services and invites us to meet several of the people from the early church.

June 18

On this Sunday we look at the story of Philip and the Ethiopian eunuch found in Acts 8:26-40.  We’ll connect this story to the current call for Christian Education in the church.  We commission Vacation Bible School leaders in both services.

June 25

Do you know much about the Grace deacons?  Do you know how they connect to the first table servants found in Acts 6?  We’ll explore all of this during worship.
