Take, Bless, Break, Give, Feast: Grace Stewardship

Faith is a Verb.

This fall we explore a different verb from scripture each week in worship. Starting October 9, we look at five verbs that come from the Lord’s Supper: take, bless, break, give and feast.  These five words guide our stewardship emphasis season this year.

Dear Grace Community,

Every month we advertise our bus ticket ministry, and it occurred to me that some of you may not know what happens in and through that ministry.  Our church, like many churches, receives regular requests for help with transportation. Bus Tickets and Morning Worship: October 14

Each month Grace distributes bus tickets to people in our community.  This happens on the 15th of the month, or if the 15th is a weekend we meet the Friday before. Volunteers and those receiving tickets begin to gather around 7 am in the Grace alcove. Guests are greeted with smiles, coffee, water, and a place to sit. Tickets are distributed at 8 am.

Growing in Faith: Sunday Mornings in October and November

The Christian Discipleship Team invites you to the second unit of Sunday morning classes for adults this fall.  This unit begins October 16. Classes run from 10-10:45 am.  There are three adult classes to choose from.

  • Listening for God

Yellow Bag Sundays: October 2016

Each month on the first Sunday you’re encouraged to take home a re-usable yellow grocery bag, put some non-perishable items in it, and bring it back the next week, or soon thereafter. This month our contributions go to the food pantry at Mount Vernon Presbyterian Church. Consider bringing canned meats and proteins. This is the last time our contributions go to Mount Vernon in 2016. In November and December, our donations go to Interfaith Ministries’ Operation Holiday.
