Messy Church

Messy Church: January 13

Messy Church is our once a month interactive worship experience that always ends with free dinner. This year Messy Church happens on the second Sunday of the month at 4:30 pm. Messy Church is designed with children eight and under in mind, BUT people of all ages are welcome. It’s a little different each month, but there is always singing, playing, laughing, praying, and Bible story telling. We wrap up with dinner around 5:30 pm.

Deep Roots Update December 2018

Deep RootsThe Deep Roots Campaign moves forward!  Plans are underway to begin construction to the basement level of Grace during the week of Christmas. Jacob’s Learning Ladder is closed that week, so it is the ideal time to put an enormous hole in the wall at the bottom of the north entrance stairs.

If you come by the church that week, know that you may be rerouted. The Jacob’s staff is working to relocate their offices. They will be on the same level but in Room B13 (previously known as the gold or purple room).

In addition to the construction updates,, we shared a check for $7500 with Hyde Elementary on Monday December 17. This gift allows them to purchase equipment for their playground, including benches and shade providers. A portion of the gift goes to the school social worker to provide basic needs for students (coats, clothes) as well as to cover things like field trip fees for students in need.

Share Your Story about Grace

We invite Grace Church members to share their interesting, funny or emotional stories about the church. This could include anything from participation in an event to why you joined. All ages are welcome.

The Archives Committee wants to meet with you for a short time between services and is available every Sunday in January. We ask that you tell your story for a video at that time. It should only take a few minutes. This effort is in preparation for the Church’s 110th anniversary celebration. If you have questions or want to make a specific meeting time, contact Cathy Feemster at the.feemsters@cox.net or by phone at 316-425-2559. Thanks for your help with this project.

Morning Worship

Bus Tickets and Morning Worship: December 14

Each month Grace distributes bus tickets to people in our community.  This happens on the 15th of the month, or if the 15th is on a weekend we meet the Friday before.  Volunteers and those receiving tickets begin to gather around 6:30 am in the Grace Alcove. Guests are greeted with smiles, coffee, water, and a place to sit. Tickets are distributed at 7:50 am.

We can always use volunteers to help with set-up, clean-up, and ticket distribution.  Want to help?  Contact Kirk Anderson, kirk@mygpc.org or 684-5215.
