Red Cross Blood Drive: November 11

  • Every two seconds someone in the US needs blood.
  • One pint of blood (the approximate amount given in a donation) can be used to help up to three people.
  • About 1/3 of the US population is eligible to give blood.
  • Five million patients in the US need blood every year.

On November 11, we host a Red Cross Blood drive at Grace from 8 am – 1 pm.  Sign up to donate on Sundays at Grace, by calling the office – 684-5215, or by going here: http://www.redcrossblood.org/rcbmobile/drive/chooseDonationTime.jsp.

You may use the “rapid pass” and save time on the day of your donation. Go to redcrossblood.org/RapidPass to finish the pre-donation reading and health history questionnaire online before coming to your appointment.

Get to Know Grace: Saturday, October 20

Are you a Grace visitor? Come learn more about our church on Saturday, October 20, at 9:30 am.  Enjoy coffee and refreshments in the parlor with Pastor Catherine Neelly Burton.

We’ll talk about Grace, how you might get more involved, and what it means to join the church.  Get to Know Grace lasts about an hour, and childcare is available upon request. RSVPs are not required but are helpful, 684-5215, or catherine@mygpc.org

Morning Worship

Bus Tickets and Morning Worship: October 15

Each month Grace distributes bus tickets to people in our community. This happens on the 15th of the month, or if the 15th is on a weekend we meet the Friday before. Volunteers and those receiving tickets begin to gather around 6:30 am in the Grace Alcove. Guests are greeted with smiles, coffee, water, and a place to sit. Tickets are distributed at 7:50 am.

We can always use volunteers to help with set-up, clean-up, and ticket distribution. Want to help? Contact Kirk Anderson, kirk@mygpc.org or 684-5215.

assistance

Presbyterian Disaster Assistance

As we watch natural disasters impact our nation and world, know that the Presbyterian Church USA is involved in disaster assistance and clean-up.  The Presbyterian Disaster Assistance (PDA) is active in many ways.  Last fall our congregation packed 18 clean-up buckets.  Buckets like ours are given out after events like Hurricane Florence.  The PDA is involved in the long-term clean up and restoration efforts in Houston from Hurricane Harvey.  Learn more here: http://pda.pcusa.org/
