Yellow Bag Sundays – April 2017

Each month on the first Sunday you’re encouraged to take home a re-usable yellow grocery bag, put some non-perishable items in it, and bring it back the next week, or soon thereafter. Our contributions this month go the Mt. Vernon Presbyterian Church food pantry.  Thank you for your generous contributions of health and beauty aids for the International Rescue Committee last month.

Women’s Ministry

We have a new Women’s Ministry at Grace, and all women are invited.

This ministry encompasses different aspects of life at Grace including: a book group, fellowship events, service, and retreats.  Capri Zimmerman is working with Catherine Neelly Burton to get this started and would love to hear from you if you’re interested.  Email her at prizslp@gmail.com.

Be a Grace Gardener

Gardeners are needed to help God beautify our grounds. The gardening team works most Thursday mornings during the summer from 8 – 11 am, planting flowers, weeding, watering, trimming shrubs, picking up leaves and maintaining the gardens and parking areas.

While we currently have a small core of dedicated workers, we need four additional helpers. Youth are welcome. No heavy lifting or special skill required, just a desire to help and be with like-minded people.

Beyond Tolerance Testimony

On February 28, my husband David and I had the pleasure to host a special dinner at our house coordinated by the Beyond Tolerance organization.

Seven guests from diverse religious backgrounds came together for a meal and a moderated discussion about their faith and personal beliefs. It was chance to learn from those who differ from ourselves, and an opportunity for deeper reflection on those perspectives that unite us as humans.
