Yellow Bag Sundays: June 2016

Each month on the first Sunday you’re encouraged to take home a re-usable yellow grocery bag, put some non-perishable items in it, and bring it back the next week, or soon thereafter.

This month our contributions go to the food pantry at Mount Vernon Presbyterian Church. Consider bringing cereal or canned fruit.

Westminster Woods Summer Camp

This June, children and youth from Grace and the Presbytery of Southern Kansas will enjoy time at Westminster Woods.

Westminster Woods is the Presbytery’s Camp, and we are excited for the ways our young people encounter God there every summer.  Please pray that our young people will have fun, will be safe, will make new friends, and will come to know Jesus in new ways as they enjoy God’s creation.

Refugees Welcome

Grace Presbyterian Church,

Bus Tickets and Morning Worship: May 13

Each month Grace distributes bus tickets to people in our community. This happens on the 15th of the month, or if the 15th is a weekend, we meet the Friday before.

Volunteers and those receiving tickets begin to gather around 7 am in the Grace alcove. Guests are greeted with smiles, coffee, water, and a place to sit.Tickets are distributed at 8 am, and a brief worship service with communion follows. Everyone is invited to stay for worship. New Signage!

In 2015, the Grace Session spent time looking at how to create a better culture of hospitality at our church. One thing we did was  establish a sub-group to look at the signage in our building. Martin Burch, our executive pastor, worked closely with this group.

The interior signage at Grace was put in place when the Great Room addition was made nearly 20 years ago. While attractive, this sub group realized that some of the signage was not entirely accurate. ...
