Morning Worship

Bus Tickets and Morning Worship: April 15

Each month Grace distributes bus tickets to people in our community. This typically happens on the 15th of the month.  Volunteers and those receiving tickets begin to gather around 7 am in the Grace alcove. Guests are greeted with smiles, coffee, water, and a place to sit. Tickets are distributed at 8:00 am, and a brief worship service follows.  Everyone is invited to stay for worship. The worship service lasts about 15 minutes.

We can always use volunteers to help with set-up, clean-up, and ticket distribution.  Want to help? Contact Kirk Anderson, kirk@mygpc.org or 684-5215.

Join us for April Laundry Love today! Laundry Love is our monthly ministry at the College Town Laundromat at 3223 East 17th Street North. We’re there from 2:30-5:30 pm to pay for laundry for anyone who comes. It’s a fun way for us to offer a blessing to our neighbors. Shifts are from 2:30-4 pm and 4-5:30 pm. Sign-up on the bulletin board in the church Narthex or email Jim Grannis.

If you can’t give that much time, stop by and say hello, or we always need people to bring treats.

Youth at Grace

Miles 4 Mission

Our IGNITE mission trip is heading south this year to Pascagoula, Mississippi.

This small coastal town still needs help with home repairs that occurred 10 years ago as a result of hurricane Katrina.

We team up with TEAMeffort again along with other youth from July 8-17.

Miles 4 Mission is an opportunity to help support this year’s Mission trip. You can purchase miles at the Miles 4 Mission table located next to the coffee bar. All of your donations go directly to support our youth taking this incredible journey to serve others and to help cover the cost of transportation. We are selling 1,788 miles at $2.25 per mile.

You can make a donation by cash, check or credit/debit card. If you have questions, please ask any of our youth or sponsors located at the Miles 4 Mission table.

Yellow Bag Sundays

Refugee Boxes (Yellow Bag Sundays April)

Each month on the first Sunday you’re encouraged to take home a re-usable yellow grocery bag, put some non-perishable items in it, and bring it back the next week, or soon thereafter. In April in place of our yellow bag donations, we will be putting together “donation boxes” of items for kitchens and bedrooms in the refugees’ new Wichita homes as the Refugee Support Team continues to seek ways to support International Rescue Committee (IRC) as they work in the area of refugee resettlement.

The bulletin board near the coffee bar lists specific supplies, their cost and where to purchase them. Consider having your Sunday School class or your family complete a box and return it to the volunteer office OR choose one or two items OR make a monetary donation, and we will shop for you (make checks payable to Grace with “refugees“ in the memo line).

It is not necessary that you provide a box. In-kind donations of used items are also welcome (with the exception of mattresses and bedding).
