Matthew 25 Bible Study in Lent

This Lent you’re invited to a three-week Bible Study focused on Matthew 25.  In the fall of 2020, the Grace Session signed on to the PCUSA Matthew 25 initiative.  For three weeks in Lent, Pastor Catherine Neelly Burton leads a Bible study on Matthew 25 and an intro to the PCUSA initiative.

The class is on Wednesdays, February 24, March 3, March 10 at 6:30 pm.  Please let Catherine know if you have a strong preference for in person or Zoom.

Thank You, Kitchen Team!

In December our Director of Food Ministries, Melaina Phares, had knee surgery.  During her recovery period an incredible group of volunteers have prepared lunch each day for Jacob’s Learning Ladder.  We give thanks for these volunteers: Chris Alexander, Trish Gealy, Lib Hooper, and Edith Tice.

Annual Meeting: February 28

The Grace Presbyterian Annual Meeting is rescheduled for Sunday, February 28, following the One Worship service at 11 am.  All Grace members, please make plans to attend, either virtually or in person. The meeting is streamed via Facebook Live.

Each year we publish an annual report that is distributed prior to our annual meeting. A PDF of the annual report is available here, or you may come by the church where some printed copies now are available.

Ash Wednesday: February 17

Ash Wednesday

Lent begins with Ash Wednesday on February 17.  We have two opportunities for Ash Wednesday worship.

  • The first is a home worship experience.  The Grace community will receive an Ash Wednesday service that you may do at home. It is designed for either one person or a group of people.  We will not mail ashes, but we have containers of ashes available at the church, and you may stop by to get them. If you prefer, call, and we’ll deliver them for you.
  • At 7 pm we gather in the Grace Sanctuary for an Ash Wednesday service that includes the imposition of ashes, Holy Communion, and music.  You may participate by coming to the building or by watching the service on Facebook Live.

Girl Scout Recognition

The Girl Scouts of Kansas Heartland recently recognized Grace with a 2020 Citizenship in Girl Scouts certificate for our dedication to Girl Scouts in the community.  We are honored to be a meeting place for Girl Scout Troops and look forward to the time when they can meet here again.
