Youth Serving at Botanica

Youth Serving at Botanica

On Wednesday, June 3, our Middle High youth spent the morning serving at Botanica.

They were assisted by some high school leaders and a fantastic group of adults. Together, the 20 youth spent the morning weeding and mulching. After their hard work, they enjoyed an afternoon movie.

Youth Car Wash: Sunday May 31

Get your car cleaned, and support our summer youth mission trip. In July, our youth travel to Western North Carolina for their annual mission trip. You can support them by getting your car washed on Sunday, May 31.

The car wash is technically free, but donations are encouraged. They will wash your car during worship, so you don’t add any extra time to your day.

Confirmation by Kirk Anderson, Director of Student Ministries

Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect. ~Romans 12:2

Since last October, we’ve been discussing with 12 amazing youth what it means to be conformed by God and not of this world through our Confirmation class. It has been both an honor and privilege for the confirmation team to work with these great youth. David McIntire, Martin Burch, Catherine Neelly Burton, Fred Heismeyer and I have had the joy of talking and discussing the work of God through the ages up to now and what it means to be a true child of God. They’ve had to explore and contemplate their faith and determine what they really believe about God and His kingdom.

The members of this year’s confirmation class are:

  • Ashley Bajaj
  • Haley Bean
  • Makena Frazier (Zimmerman)
  • Luke Hetrick
  • Garrett Lancelot
  • Mekonen Ney
  • Ian Phares
  • Alexandra Schumann
  • Emma Schumann
  • Noelle Schumann
  • Blake Ullmann
  • Wil Ullmann.

On April 20, the Confirmands go before Session, read and discuss their faith statements, and are voted on for membership. On April 26, they stand before God and you to be Confirmed as members of God’s universal church and as full members of Grace Presbyterian church, by a statement of faith. You, as their church brothers and sisters in Christ, will confirm your continued support in helping them reach their full God given potential.

Please keep these young people in your prayers as their journey is not over and in some ways is just beginning!
