Philippians 2:2 – Fulfill my joy by being like-minded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind.
Every July, our high school youth and dedicated and brave adults leave for a week of mission. Over the years, Grace youth have traveled to Arizona, Oklahoma, Florida, Louisiana, Arkansas, Missouri, Kentucky, Colorado, Tennessee, North Carolina, Michigan and many more states.
Youth Mission (Work Trip for the old timers) has been a cornerstone of Grace’s youth ministry for at least 40 years, probably longer. For a youth ministry to have this kind of longevity speaks wholly to you, the members and friends of Grace, hearing God’s call and having the same love, being of one accord and one mind, and supporting youth as they serve God. Without your support, these trips would not be possible; the cost would be too much to bear.
This year we head to Cherokee Nation in North Carolina. As of this writing, we have 26 youth and 11 adults answering God’s call to serve. We have had our first fund raiser, Super Sub Sunday, and your support was fantastic and appreciated! We hold two more fund raisers over the next few months. One, during the month of March, is a new way to support by sponsoring a portion of the trip through donating for miles. The other is our annual car wash on Sunday, May 31. These events are vital not only for funding these trips but also as the starting point for the mission trip as youth learn to work together, set goals, deal with obstacles, learn accountability and support of one another. They learn to be of one accord and one mind with one goal: to serve God.
Thank you for fulfilling God’s joy in being like-minded in your love and support of Grace Youth!
